Here is a view of the road we travelled. It is just wide enough for a car or truck. There are "pull outs" every so often to be used for passing. Moggie won the most points for large oncoming trucks. Jim won for having the most dangerous--a petrol tank truck and he stared down each other once.

Tobermory, a picturesque fishing village on the north west end of Mull
on Mull we drove north to the town of Tobormory and poked around some shops. Had lunch at The Gannets, and then took a walk to the lighthouse. It turned out to be about a 2-hour walk, circling back to town along the golf course. The walk from town toward the light house reminded me a lot of the narrow paths on the side of Lookout Mountain. We climbed some pretty steep hills through gorse and heather to get to the top, and ultimately to the golf course. Lovely views of the water all the way out and part of the way back. Did a little shopping in Tobormory after our walk...found some plaques with Gaelic or Celtic orientation, one had to do with the triple goddess (maid, mother, crone) which I was tickled to find.
