Jim finding on the train schedule when we had to catch the train to Thurso. It leaves at 5:15 pm, so we have about 4 hours to walk around in Inverness. |
DEEP PAN PIZZA, just near the train station. As in October, the neon sign on the left says DEE PAN and the one on the right says EEP PAN.
|
Jim at the Celtic Craft Center where he bought a celtic design formed in a brass casting. |
Downtown Inverness scene. |
Steeples in Inverness, a seagull and the snow in the mountains to the north. |
Mog at Inverness Castle noticing the foot-bridge over the River Ness. |
The River Ness, a foot-bridge that leads to the Eden Court Theatre, across the river. |
Inverness' St. Andrews Cathedral (Scottish Episcopal). There was a painting inside the cathedral that showed a priest baptising a baby by reaching through the bars of his prison window. He was imprisoned in Stonehaven, for his religious views. |
Cathedral again. |
Monument to Flora MacDonald. She once helped Bonnie Prince Charlie escape from the English by dressing him up as her maid. |

"Ness Place." I know some people with the name Ness and I though they might like to know where their place is. |
Mog beside the River Ness. By the way, Inverness means "Mouth of the Ness." |
A curious design on an Inverness war memorial. We had seen this on another Inverness building. Notice the camel and the elephant on either side of the image of Christ on the cross. |
Jim at the River Ness near the foot-bridge that is near the Eden Court Theatre. |
Ness house. Again, for my Ness friends. |
Unnamed flowers. |
|
A lovely design. Jim loves Designs |
|
The setting sun across the River Ness. (This was taken at 2:50 pm.) |
Ditto. |
Evening in Inverness City Center. The building on the right is the town hall. The building on the left has a McDonalds Hamburger store in it. |
