Scotland activities on 2 October
Travelling from Tarbert, Harris through Skye & Highlands to Edinburgh.

PREVIOUS day Month's Calendar NEXT day

We got back into Edinburgh at 6:14 pm after leaving Tarbert, Harris on the 7:30 ferry, having had breakfast at the B&B at 6:30 a.m. We took the ferry to Uig on Skye, arriving around 9:30 to a bus awaiting ferry people. The bus took us to Kyle of Lochalsh. From there, we connected with a train with about 20 minutes to spare, and it took us to Inverness. We'd heard it was a gorgeous area to take the train through, and it probably was; but we were pretty saturated by that time, and had seen such impressive sights out on Lewis and Harris, Mull and Iona, that it didn't seem astounding. When we got to Inverness, we talked briefly about hiring a car and driving over to see Clava Cairns and down to see Urquahart Castle...but there was a train leaving in 7 minutes for Edinburgh.
