Edinburgh Festival Theatre. We saw Pirates of Penzance and Tristan & Isolde there. Both had music; both had rather fantastic occurrences; one had action and was easy to follow.

The ice cream seller

The ice cream seller is a Scottish institution in theaters. At intermission, a seller comes to the front of each aisle. Little cups of vanilla are (pound) 1, Nutty Buddies are 1.2

Dinner on the stairs. At Tristan and Isolde, the 2nd intermission was 50 minutes. Allowing time to eat, since the whole thing lasted over 5 hours (from 5 pm till almost 10:30!).
